i love… yuri on ice so much im sorry i can never shut the fuck up about it. i’ve never seen a southeast asian character portrayed in such a good light and here i have phichit, who’s so adorable and such an amazing friend to yuuri and he’s so proud of being thai he’s so proud of his culture!! and as someone who’s half southeast asian i don’t think i’ve ever been told that i could be proud of my heritage, yet phichit is here and he’s so fucking unapolegetic about being thai and incorporating his culture into his skating?? and just. yuuri and viktor? are so good?? they’re a gay biracial couple between a white man and an asian man and it’s portrayed as healthy and good and beautiful. most of all it’s portrayed like a realistic relationship, where they struggle, where they go through trials and still love each other and are happy?? and they dont pretend there arent any cultural differences and misunderstandings.. its just. it feels so good man. i fucking sobbed when i realized that was it, a happy, healthy and good biracial relationship in a show with a japanese mlm as main character. this show makes me feel so validated and warm and happy
