So not to interrupt this Yuri on Ice content with… more Yuri on Ice content, but: Most Relatable Duality of Yuuri Katsuki Mood for me is hands-down that interplay between his ever-fluctuating self-worth and his pride.
Like. I cannot stop picturing him pre-competition, the oncoming psychological death spiral glaringly obvious to everyone who’s ever met him. The only times he doesn’t look 100% catatonic is when he’s making ‘jokes’ to Phichit like “Ha ha, if you don’t want to be seen with me afterwards I totally understand, hahaha.”
And then one of the Americans breezes over like, “Hey, Katsuki, can I give you some advice? Try not to take this seriously. Just have fun.”
The temperature drops like 12 degrees and Yuuri grows about 2 inches in height as he draws himself out of his slouch. His stare focuses and zeroes in. The only audible sound is an onlooker swallowing.
“I’ll keep that in mind, Craig,” he says, and then spite-skates to silver.
(And Phichit swears to this day that he can’t remember tweeting “CRAIG JUST ALMOST BECAME AN EX-CRAIG.”)
Do you ever think about Yuuri’s love for Makkachin? Like
yeah…Makkachin was Viktor’s dog…but his first word upon seeing a pic of Makka
was “Cute!” He thought that dog was so damn cute and friendly-looking that he
immediately got a miniature version for himself and he loved that dog to
pieces. Now, I’m not saying Yuuri’s love for Vicchan was totally because of
Makka, but Makka was the inspiration for Vicchan’s being owned by Yuuri, that’s
just canon.
And then…he meets…Makkachin. The Makkachin. Yuuri recognized
a specific dog. Do you know how hard that is? Not even just the breed, he
was wondering if it was Makkachin specifically before he even knew Viktor was there; Viktor’s
presence just confirmed it.
Yuuri has loved this dog from afar for over a decade.

as if i don’t say it enough all the dang time, yuri on ice is such a blessing, y’all. seriously. i love it again and again and again.
• Yuuri and Victor audio guide has Yuuri progressively getting drunker on champagne as you move through each section
• Yuuri lets his fanboy loose in the section featuring Victor
• Yuuri’s collection of Victor memorabilia includes photos of young Victor in both the Agape and Eros costumes. Also of young Victor totally not paying attention at a press conference and eating chocolate instead
• Detailed photo of possibly Victor’s SP costume from the previous season. It’s even more gorgeous than the Stammi Vicino one and I desperately need that art made public
• Yuuri’s FS costume and the SP costumes of all the other GPF skaters are on display. Phichit’s and Otabek’s are stunning. JJ’s is laughably plain
• The crotch of Chris’s SP costume was stuffed. There was a bulge. None of the other skaters had it. I could not stop giggling
• The back of Yuuri’s FS costume is incredibly beautiful. How did Victor keep his hands off? (Oh right, he didn’t…)
• Victor and Yuuri’s exhibition costumes have their rings on the mannequins. Also, the costumes have a zipper on the front, where the v-line of the black comes together… Easy frontal access, if you know what I mean
• Lots of sketches, including one of Victor standing to greet Yuuri at the onsen from episode one… without the steam in the way…
