i was on the bus yesterday re-reading tfc and when i came across the lines “you aren’t going anywhere. you’re staying here” and “what would it take to make you stay?” ofc i knew that they’re parallels to what happens in tkm in that Hotel Scenebut i was just wondering if when andrew tells neil that the first time, is he re-assuring neil or himself? because like, we know that andrew thinks neil is “unreal”, that he’s a pipe dream and a side effect of the drugs, so when he says “you’re not going anywhere” that first time in tfc, i wonder if it’s more for himself than it is for neil and for their deal. andrew has been trying to keep this one thing, this person that seems too good and interesting to be true, since the beginning, even though he knows that this could be a problem and idk where i was going with this but i just wanted you guys to know that andrew minyard makes me cry everyday

edit to add: remember when neil told andrew in tkm that he’s not a pipe dream and that he’s not going anywhere? yeah. i die every time

can i take a moment to say how much i appreciate the fact that neil josten is canonically demisexual? i love that sakavic took the pains in affirming that yes, neil is in a relationship with a guy, but it doesn’t automatically make him gay. (remember how neil asserts that he does not swing, and just because he likes andrew, does not mean he swings). idk, i just wanted to point this out since i just. i sometimes cringe when ppl make posts about how “lol neil is SO gay just look at how thirsty he is for andrew”. i mean, i know that ppl are just having fun with it and mean no harm but idk, i just get tired of having ace-spec ppl get erased. we already get little to no representation as it is so

(in case you’re still not convinced, nora sakavic has explicitly stated that neil belongs in the asexual spectrum)
