He knew he had started his entire time at Aglionby certain that all he wanted to do was get as far away from this state and everything in it as possible.

He couldn’t tell if he was letting himself idolize this place or Ronan, and he wasn’t sure there was a difference.

The only reality was this: He was home. How badly he wanted to stay.

so in trk when ronan tries to drop opal off with aurora and he tells her to stay she curses at him and he says “watch your mouth around my mother” 

but like imagine opal cursing??? she looks like a tiny human child and she is adorable but ofc she’s also a product of ronan’s mind so 

  • opal coming running up to adam and ronan like “GUESS WHAT I FUCKING FOUND!” all cheerfully 
    • adam chokes, ronan glares
    • opal is indifferent 
    • “watch your fucking mouth”
    • “you watch your fucking mouth” she tells him
    • adam laughs for 59902 years
  • the three of them having breakfast at the barns and opal saying “pass the fucking salt please this branch is too damn bland”
    • “watch your mouth around your fathers, sphincter” says ronan irritably
    • “should you be eating that?” asks adam
  • “kerah the fucking deer won’t eat out of my goddamn hand”
    • “I SWEAR TO GOD, KID”
    • “well i mean she did learn it from you, ronan”
    • “nobody fucking asked you, parrish”
  • ronan walks in on opal chewing on the toaster and just asks in a very faint voice “what the fuck are you doing?”
    • “this shit tastes fucking amazing” she answers
    • ronan wants to cry
    • “should you be eating that?” asks adam even as he laughs
  • “fuck” realizes ronan one day “i’ve become gansey”
    • “i like gansey” declares opal “even if he drives a piece of shit”
    • “you’re grounded” ronan tells her
    • “fuck you” she answers
    • “ADAM” yells ronan “DISCIPLINE YOUR DAUGHTER”
    • “should you really be eating that?” asks adam as opal chews on ronan’s car keys
    • “fuck” groans ronan and officially Gives Up On Life

‪Important things ronan did for adam: ‬
‪ 

  • carried his stuff into monmouth and sat with him in noah’s room till he was ready to join the others ‬ 
  • helped him move into his st agnes apartment and never tried to make him move into monmouth because he knew that’s not what adam wanted
  • fixed adam’s rent when he got the letter from aglionby before adam even opened his own letter and told anyone because he already knew adam wouldn’t be able to afford it 
  • gave him a shitty mixtape for his car
  • dreamed up hand lotion for adam because he noticed how adam’s chapped hands were a discomfort to him  
  • sat with him after persephone died so he wouldn’t have to mourn alone 
  • messed about with him in shopping carts and on moving dollys probably helping to distract him from all the bad stuff 
  • helps him with his scrying in trk 
  • gave adam a reason to come back and a place to come back to if he really wanted to 
  • makes him feel blissfully happy 

 Important things adam did for ronan: 

  • never pestered him about school because he knows ronan hates it and always will 
  • pressed charges against his father so ronan wouldn’t go to jail even though he knew it would leave him homeless 
  • fixed the ley line for him 
  • let him sleep in his apartment 
  • made time in his jam packed schedule to go to the barns with ronan and research greenmantle 
  • thought of an incredibly clever way to take down greenmantle even though it was extremely dangerous 
  • made cabeswater play stupid music just to seem him smile 
  • saved his and opal’s lives 
  • slept next to him in the car so he didn’t have to be alone when he was mourning for his mother and told ronan to wake him if he needed to 
  • makes him feel like he caught happiness without meaning to

the evolution of adam and ronan (bold is faves)

  • Last week, he and Adam had taken turns dragging each other on a moving dolly behind the BMW, and they both still had the marks to show it
  • Gansey had once told Adam that he was afraid most people didnt know how to handle Ronan. What he meant by this was that he was worried that one day someone would fall on Ronan and cut themselves. 
  • “Do you think it makes me look tougher?” Ronan said, “It makes you look like a loser.”
  • “You’re a Neanderthal.” “Sometimes you sound just like Gansey,” Ronan said. “Sometimes you don’t.” Noah laughed his breathy, nearly soundless laugh. Ronan spit on the ground beside the BMW. “I didn’t realize that ‘midget’ was the Adam Parrish type.” he said. 
  • Two years earlier, Adam had made his decision to come to Aglionby, and, in his head, it was sort of because of Ronan…even the way the other boy had moved, Adam recalled, had struck him: confident and careless, shoulders rolled back, chin tilted, an emperor’s son…He’d never wanted to be someone else so badly. In his head, that boy was Ronan.
  • “I’m always straight.” Adam replied, “Oh, man, that’s the biggest lie you’ve ever told.”
