Listen, it’s just so important to me that they argue about small, domestic things like any couple would because it not only plays into the element of realism that the show itself tries so hard to depict, but also shows that any power imbalance that may originally exist due to the coach-student relationship and 11/12 years of idolization has completely or almost completely faded. Yuuri knocking Victor off the pedestal – Yuuri realizing that treating Victor like a god-like figure only serves to dehumanize him – is my favourite aspect to their entire relationship. The 9 months together in Hasetsu has already revealed to Yuuri that Victor is more or less as capable of human mistakes as he is, but it is only when he lives with Victor in his own home that he can uncover Victor’s most unornamented self, and to accept and love the entirety of his being as it is.

(This is just a personal exploration into one side of their relationship, and not a statement of how I view the ship should be enjoyed. I actually love content where they spoil each other to bits or where Yuuri freaks out over his Victor merch being ruined.)
