“I sprouted from the concrete” and “humans were born without wings so we search for other ways to fly” both sound like some lines from some award winning slam poetry, or some social or political commentary-Kanye or Drake lyric, but they’re actually from an anime about an orange gremlin who can jump super super high but learns that the power of friendship can get him higher.

I’m only slightly bitter I’m gonna miss it because of my schedule. Anyway, here, take a thing.
THE NEWEST CHAPTER WAS SUCH
ANOTHER
GOOD CHAPTER
Just thought I’d point out that in Haikyuu 266, Taketora refers to Kuroo as Kenma’s miuchi (身内), which has the following meanings:
noun:
relatives; one’s family
friends; members of the same organization
followers; henchmen
one’s whole body
いつくしみは、身内から始めよう。 Charity begins at home.
神は私の身内に存するが、そうでなければ全然存在しない。 God is in me or else is not at all. ▾I point this out because it has more meanings than just the most plain natural meaning of the word “friend”,otherwise Tora could have just used the word “tomodachi” – there would have been no other reason for this particular choice of words to use ‘miuchi’, but for the fact that a meaning beyond just a general ‘friend’ meaning was sought to be conveyed – hence my choice of words in the translation here.
I suppose my thought on this is that Tora wants to say that Kuroo is Kenma’s close friend, or a friend Kenma is acquainted with beyond being a general “friend” in the most plain meaning of the word.
Fyi, Tora doesn’t just mean “childhood friend” because there’s another word he could have used for that – osananajimi.
isn’t this the first time we’ve seen him talk??
