I really liked him from the getgo A LOT, but I think the moment I fell in love was here:

When I go back and rewatch the first episode, the fire in Yuuri is clear from the beginning, but I wasn’t exactly paying attention much on a meta level on first viewing of episode one. However, this scene, when I first saw the ep, was my favorite one in episode two and it made me go “this is the character I am here for.” 

I LOVED seeing this moment where Yuuri, despite his own mental illness, knew he was good. I loved this acknowledgment from Yuuri that yes he is very talented, even if he lacks the ability (at this moment in time) to skate to his full potential in competition. This is so real; the contradiction of anxiety is often that you know deep down you’re good at something and sometimes you even believe it, but anxiety is not rational and tries to tell you you aren’t and it’s loud. Here, Yuuri’s belief in his talent wins out. 

I love Yuuri, after being kicked around and totally run down the first two episodes, being all ‘lmao you’re like five and I’m already a champion senior skater, so watch it’. And that expression in the second cap. ❤

So this is the moment I fell in love with Yuuri.
