I love how in Kaz and Inej’s relationship, it’s the subtle things that shows how much they care. Like how Kaz finds the guy that stabbed Inej and tortures him for information before throwing him over the side of a boat.

Kaz Brekker’s feelings for Inej Ghafa are so subtle! I wonder how anyone could even tell they’re there. His actions and words are so casual:

>i used the 4 million kruge that i’ve been saying is my sole motivation the last 1,000 pages to buy you a boat to kill slavers oh and also here is your long lost family so you don’t leave me to go to Ravka 

>i made sure the business that enslaved you was conveniently destroyed

>oh also i paid off the rest of your debt that binds you to the dregs, even though i’m so full of self-loathing that i believe you wouldn’t stay with me for any other reason 

>i will attempt to overcome my soul-crushing post-traumatic stress to kind of nuzzle your neck in this bathroom

A man of mystery, that brekker
