i lie awake at night wondering what adam meant when he said to gansey “you’ve dated way more than me”. in what context did this happen. how did these dating situations go. has dick gansey been in successful romantic situations with girls. please explain this maggie answer the real questions

i actually have headcanons about this and it involves gansey being his charming earnest self and generally dropping “what do you know about welsh kings” a lot, which somehow comes out like it’s some kind of flirty one-liner, and girls think hes one of those charming eccentrics and end up tagging along for lunch and they end up going out mostly inadvertently on gansey’s part but then evENTUALLY THEY REALIZE THAT HIS OBSESSION WITH WELSH KINGS IS NOT A JOKE OR A QUIRKY SIDE INTEREST, HE ALMOST CERTAINLY CARES MORE ABOUT OWEN GLENDOWER THAN HE DOES ABOUT THEM AND ALSO HIS ROOMMATE IS REALLY SCARY MAYBE THEY DON’T WANT TO DATE THIS GUY AS BADLY AS THEY THOUGHT 

so they tell him they can’t have a boyfriend because they have to concentrate on their studies

and he says he understands and wishes them well and says hes enjoyed their time together immensely and will miss their company

this has happened at least two or three times at aglionby and does not include the times when he goes on ridiculous trips for questing reasons and ends up wooing some local girl or expert or cashier or something with his earnestness like some sort of fucking movie protagonist who can’t do anything without acquiring a romantically interested sidekick (whom he then parts with because his true love is Henrietta)
